Chris Strach is a UK-based tattoo artist currently working out of York, with a journey in art that began long before he ever picked up a tattoo machine. From a young age, Chris was immersed in creativity, starting with sculpting and soon branching into pencil drawing, acrylic painting, and graffiti. His love for all forms of art naturally led him to the world of tattooing, which quickly became his true passion.

Chris began his tattoo career in 2014 and dove headfirst into the craft. By 2016, he was already showcasing his work at tattoo conventions and had joined a top studio in Bristol, working alongside some of the industry’s most respected artists. Their influence helped elevate his skills and expand his creative vision.

Over the years, Chris has attended numerous tattoo conventions across the UK and Europe, including in France, Italy, and Germany. His work has earned him several awards, ranging from Best Colour to Best Avant Garde, reflecting his bold style and technical versatility.

Specialising in realism, surrealism, and expert cover-ups, Chris brings both precision and creativity to every piece. He works in both black & grey and colour, drawing continuous inspiration from a wide range of styles—especially avant-garde and experimental approaches. In recent years, he has developed a deep interest in cover-up work, embracing the challenge of transforming old tattoos into new, expressive art.

Chris continues to evolve, always pushing boundaries and exploring new artistic possibilities - whether on skin, canvas, or beyond.
